Focus

When your focus is more on your lifestyle than your life, you have a very serious problem.

For a very long time, I was afraid that by expressing the naked truth about my experiences, I would destroy the “concept,” because that is what it is, about who I am, and people would turn away from me. However, what God has revealed to me is that by hiding the truth, I was building a wall of tolerance that shielded the works of the enemy and hindered his ability to work in my life.  So, I decided to not only remove my mask of deception and come from behind the wall of tolerance, but to  destroy the enemy’s camp by tearing it down and revealing the cunning works of his hand.  Now, I can acknowledge that in so doing, I am free from the bonds of sin and death – because guilt no longer has a hold on me.

Why did I share this with you?  It’s simple:  Show me that you love me, and you don’t have to say a word.  My mother use to say Love can kill, love can cure, love can make a rich man poor.  Ironically, all those attributes are true and any of them can cause us to become vulnerable and/or fallible in our interpretation of love.  Sometimes the truest form of love is a still tongue that keeps a wise head; sometimes it’s a spoken word that breaks the din of silence; sometimes it’s a simple touch – but sometimes it can also be found in distance.
