God gave you the breath of life and empowered (endowed) you with everything that you need to live that life vicariously through faith in Christ Jesus, but some people have no regard for life or the God who gave it to them, and do everything in their power to give it away through wantonness and riotuous living …but it is not your life to give away. It’s your life to live…so that others may see your good works and glorify your father in heaven.
Everyone needs a purpose and a plan. Jeremiah 29:11 tells us about what God’s plan is towards us, but it is our choice whether to accept it by faith and live it with grace.
None of us has the wherewithal to identify a purpose, implement a plan, and effectively navigate uncharted territories by ourselves. We need someone else with a wider knowledge base than ours to direct our path and keep us on course until we reach the expected end. That is why even though we plan our course, the Lord will direct our path. To get a clear understanding of what I’m trying to say here, think of God as an Air Traffic Controller. There is a lot of congestion and turbulence in your flight path that you cannot see from sitting in your cockpit. So God acts as a spiritual radar to constantly detect and monitor any interference that might alter our flight plan. Then in his divine wisdom, he has given us the Holy Spirit as an intercessor to receive the signal clearly from heaven and deliver the message that will warn and protect us from any spiritual forces that may come against us that would otherwise cause us to crash and burn. Yet we spend so way too much valuable time trying to do it all by ourselves, because we have not yet learned to work in tandem with our Air Traffic Controller. However, that means we will eventutally wander off course, be it intentionally or accidentally. Thankfully, when that happens, God will have mercy upon us and put a divine obstruction in our path that will cause us to detour before we fall off the spiritual radar. Unfortunately there are many times when we will stop being sensitive to the will of God and chose to be neglectful in our responses to the spirit. Sadly, in those instances, God will leave us to our own devices, and allow us to continue on that dangerous course until we collide or turn to seek his face.
