Bridged by Spiritual Enlightenment

Bridged by Spiritual Enlightenment

When you can’t see God’s hand, trust His word.

Many times we have a need that we are not even aware of until the gap in our consciousness is bridged by spiritual enlightenment and awareness. This is a shortcoming that many of us face, because we are always in worker mode … we always feel that we have to be doing something more than we have already done, so we never learn what it means to be still and know – to know, for ourselves, that God is an able provider. We never see him in all his glory, because we are looking at his works through the weary, teary eyes of guilt, condemnation, remorse, aggravation, frustration, and a whole host of other worldly maladies.

All that we, as a people, especially people rooted and grounded in the Christian faith, have to do is take a stand and show forth God’s truth in our lives and receive freely of his many blessings…and share them in like manner with those of a lesser persuasion, including telling them about the goodness of God’s grace, the comfort of his holy spirit, and the unyielding protection of his ever present mercy. The woman at the well threw down her bucket and said, “Give me your water,” then she ran down the street shouting, “Come see a man.” The lepers ate their full, then said, “What we are doing is not a good thing, keeping this to ourselves, let us go and tell the others of this great thing that we have found.”  That is what is lacking in us in these modern times.  We don’t know what we have because we don’t take stock of our haves, because we dwell on our have-nots, but like I told my husband—earlier this morning—“I make a conscious decision to declare God’s glory in my life, because I know what he has done for me; and when I tell people about it, it’s not so that they could look to me as their saving grace but to look upward to him for their own outpouring.”
