Be Ready for Service

…47That servant who knows his master’s will but does not get ready or follow his instructions will be beaten with many blows. 48But the one who unknowingly does things worthy of punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and from him who has been entrusted with much, even more will be demanded. (Luke 12:47 & 48-BSB)

Understand the responsibility that comes with your strength; ponder the effects of your inhibitions; know the boundaries of your limitations; challenge your weaknesses; visualize how willful disobedience will influence your thinking, impede your judgment, and affect your decisions to set in rapid motion a series of consequences that can adversely change your circumstances or bring about a swift-ending to your purposeful and promise-filled life.

Remember also, “… 11that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. 12For man also knoweth not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them. (Ecclesiastes 9:11 & 12-KJV)

1Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:1 & 2)
