As you travel along life’s pathway, may you find new meaning in each and every day; and if someone comes by who needs a friend, may there be enough love in your heart to share a warm embrace of encouragement.
This post is dedicated especially to the memory of my deceased relatives, friends, coworkers and business associates – names too numerous to mention – known and unknown whom we have loved, cherished and lost to cancer, and those to whom we have nothing but a human and divine connection. May their souls rest in eternal peace and those who continue to mourn them find comfort in the love of God and fellowship of those whom he has chosen to remain.
To those who are still wrestling with the disease in any of its many forms, we cannot bear your pain, we do not know your sorrow, but our hearts grieve right along with yours and we will continue to tarry with you as long as time permits.
To those who have wrestled and won the battle with cancer, and those who have never felt its icy grasp, stay awoke…get tested regularly…and follow through with any medical intervention made available to you. Not all cancers are the same and not all follow the same path, process, or progress, but left unchecked, they all lead to certain death…and sometimes the agony is such that death is the only welcome relief.
Lastly, I encourage you to support cancer research and remediation as best you could, as often as you could. I chose the American Cancer Society as my non-profit charity of choice, because their fight against cancer is not myopic, and neither is the range of cancer that has affected members of our family, but you can chose to contribute in any manner that befits you. May the God of all grace continue to be your guard and your guide as you conitnue on this sojourn called life.
