Crisis of the Weary Soul (Excerpted)
I cannot venture into your soul
Except to pray for you each day
That the truth of God you shall behold
When you look into a mirror,
Or when you cannot find peace
Know that there is a secret –
That only you can release
Unrighteousness bears the bitter fruit
Of selfishness, arrogance and pride
Pleasant to the flesh – poisonous to the soul
Hidden in the shell of beauty – in a core of truths untold
We strive hard to keep it from being broken
Fearing the bitter truth that will unfold
While others revel in its glory
And savor its every delight
So when you look into a mirror, or when you cannot find any peace
Reflect upon that secret deep in your soul – that only you can release
Give it wings and set it free to quench the burning fire …. And
Lift the veil of secrecy to bring about a calm resolve and give solemn rest to the crisis of the weary soul
