Sojourners of the Christian Faith
We Bless the Lord, for we are the backup singers to the heavenly chorus, and our voices are being heard through the amplification of a heretic church. As we sojourn through our daily lives, you may not know us by name or deed, but you will know us by the spirit of oneness that evokes the effervescent glory of God through a brief encounter or by the simplistic patterns of forbearance that exemplifies a purpose driven life.
We are the ones who march to the beat of a different drummer; who keep going long after the marathon is over; who toil when the world is sleeping, tarry through the dark of night, and rise up early to proclaim the word of truth in the midst of adversity; who help others to find peace in the midst of turmoil; who search diligently with those who are trying to find life in a dead place; who give comfort to those who are of a grievous spirit; who keep watch fearlessly with those who are too afraid to be left alone; who walk faithfully with those who can’t stand still.
We are Sojourners of the Christian Faith, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, to proclaim the virtues of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” (1 Peter 2:9 (BSB)
