God’s Not Late
Scripture of Reference: Isaiah 64 – Focus: Verses 7 – 9
——————————————————–
We will win the battles of our lives if we learn to wait upon the Lord – Most of the time we are defeated, it’s because do it our way – according to our timing – instead of God’s.
One of the reasons that we don’t see more prayers answered is because we want them (answered) on our schedule – but you see God has a reason for our waiting.
God’s not late. If God is on your side, and he’s on your team, he wants you to win in the battles of life, but only as long as you and I are willing to wait upon him, willing to trust him…and so we frustrate the will of God, and miss our God-endowed provision, because wait was an option we didn’t want to consider.
“Those who hopefully wait upon me will not be put to shame.” (Isaiah 29:11) – That means that God will work things out in our behalf, whatever they may be.
When we get ahead of God, he lets us work it out our way, but it leads to disappointment — Every Time.
Every single moment of our life, we have God working in our behalf. God will work in your behalf every day, moment by moment in those big things, little sized things, medium things in your life, as he works in the ministry.
How to Wait Upon the Lord
- Faith – I must be willing to trust the Lord when I don’t know when or why
- Humility – I must recognize him, come to him
- Patience – I’m willing to remain calm without stress and willing to wait my way out
- Courage – The courage to resist my schedule and my time rather than Gods. The courage to resist the pressure of the attitudes and the opinions of other people who think that it’s time for me to move; the courage to resist the fear of failure that things won’t turn out the way I plan. The courage to avoid the catalyst of failure, by waiting on the Lord.
- Wait- Wait when I am unsure of my way, when I cannot see clearly what I need to do; when God says wait.
It is always wise to wait, profitable to wait, because God in his wisdom always plans his very best for you and me. God’s plans are perfect, and we are always wise to wait for his timing.
