A Prayer for Physical Intercessors

A Prayer for Physical Intercessors

Lord I pray for my family, friends, and all the professional service, health care providers, first responders, and defenders of lawfulness and around the world who are standing in the gap at any given moment, taking the blows and towing the line in favor of their fellow citizens.  Increase them in areas wherein they need to be increased, Lord, and decrease them in areas wherein they need to be decreased.  Be a witness to their faith, Lord, a testimony to their glorious hope in you, Lord, and a strong tower for them to lean on, especially in these trying times.  Strengthen them in their resolve, Lord, and establish an atmosphere of rightfulness in their place of employment so that your peace empowers them, and your name glorified.  Provide them with stalwart protection against the enemy, in the midst of adversities, Lord; that he might not endure.  Set them securely apart from all works of iniquity and vile contempt, and raise up a platform of power and performance on which to stand, Lord, that will raise them up far above the complexities of human nature, financial shortfalls, physical pitfalls, and the dry bones of bureaucracy.  Extend the reach of their hands to those with immense need and multiply the works of their hands to bring healing and comfort to all with whom them come into contact, put a perimeter of protection around them and their charges, Lord, that nothing detrimental to their cause might be a hindrance to them, their efforts, or the greater good.  Pour upon them fresh oil to make all physical ailments foreign to their nature, shake the snakes of physical ailments and ill-will, and feed the fire of purpose with an abundance of understanding and empathy that it might blaze brazenly in the midst of despair.  Empower every word that they speak and/or write in their line of duty to bring peace and quicken the spirit of the disconcerted with vigor and every touch of their hands minister healing to ailing bodies.  Strengthen them in their faith, Lord, and gird them up in your bosom for comfort and rest; inspire them with wisdom, and impart upon them the immeasurable gift of your compassion that they may continue to give of unfailingly selflessly of themselves with no desire for name recognition or personal gain, but strive only to be perfected in your will and accomplish that which you have established as right, proper and true and purposed in divine favor as their fitting reward.

O Lord, I beseech thee that thy tender mercies be bestowed upon us all, with every precious breath, Lord, for sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Lord, I pray, also, for those of us who act as a pillar of faith in the midst of a faithless population that we be strengthened in our faithfulness. I pray that each and person that you have sent forth as a candle of hope will burn brighter each day, for new every morning is the love that you have bestowed on us, and your mercy doth endure forever.

Gird us up, Lord. Repair that rent that is in our armor, Lord, as we continue to stand in the heat of fire for the deliverance of your people, 0 Lord. Grant that the angels of heaven encamp around us, and keep us safe by their circle of protection. Lord, lift us up when we have faltered; carry us when we are tired; grant us rest when we are weary; feed us with the bread of Life when we are hungry, and let us continue to drink from that ever flowing fountain that is the water of life.

Lord, you have asked your father that we not be removed from this world, because we are the light of the world, but that he should give us grace that we might endure. Today, Lord, I ask the same of you, that we not be removed from the place wherein you have planted our feet, that we be like trees planted by the rivers of water, bringing forth fruit in due season, Dear Lord, and that we may be given grace that we may endure until you perfect will has come to pass in our lives and the lives of those you have entrusted to our care and attention for time, place, and purpose…

In the most precious and holy name of Jesus, I pray – Amen
