Many of us are falling by the wayside because instead of feasting at the banquet table that God has prepared for us in the presence of our enemies, we are asking for our inheritance to go out into the far country and enjoy life. Unfortunately, the only thing that we will accomplish in the end is the fact that our inheritance will have been wasted, leaving us chasing the blue light special, and we will ultimately have to return to our father’s house and beg his forgiveness. How sad, and yet euphorically great that would be, when we turn again and enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise, to become a has been to the world and a precious jewel in God’s crown, redeeming the time, proving what is the good and acceptable will of God — for his people?

Thank God for his amazing grace. May He in His divine wisdom, continue to have mercy upon us and forgive us of our foolish ways. Amen.
