The Lord is still in his counting house, and he has not forgotten you – or the promise that he made to you in the safety of his tabernacle. He is holding you steadfast in righteousness, so that your feet will not wander from the pathway that leads to the promise of his eternal truth. (Scriptures of reference: Psalm 78:34-39 and Galatians 6:7-9)
“The Law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. The statues of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous all together. More to be desired are they than gold; yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover, by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping them is great reward.” (Psalm 19:7-11)
“Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward. For ye have need of patience, that after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive of the promise. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and not tarry.” (Hebrews 10:35 & 36)
Your belief in God must be set in place as the chief corner stone, grounded in the bedrock of faith upon which everything else in your life is firmly rooted. This is why Handling Anger with the Grace of the Lord is so important, because without faith in God’s abiding grace, anger will take up the most prominent space in your heart, and become the foundation on which your life is built. Since anger takes the place of God in your life, there will be no place for God to set up his mercy seat in your heart. Therefore, it would stand to reason then that if there is no mercy seat, there will be no mercy – and without mercy God’s grace will not abound.
If you are at a place today where it seems like hell has opened up a portal in your life and God has abandoned the throne room of grace, I can tell you – from experience – hell has, but don’t believe the devil’s lie, God has not abandoned you. He just turned his face away, for a season, and taken away the yoke of on-time deliverance, to encourage you to seek earnestly after him; and do not despair.
God is a God of mercy, and he will never give you more than you can bear, or let you be tempted beyond that which you can endure, and with every temptation God will provide you with a way out. The pain comes because you are being allowed to feel the heavy, crippling burden of a sinful life upon your shoulder, without the grace and mercy of God to soothe away the pain and ease the suffering. This is just God’s way of saying: either you make room for him in your life, or you can continue to leave him out of your life, suffer the grim consequences of a life wrought with constant bitterness and strife and be condemned to eternal damnation ever after. But even though it might be weighing you down right now, and slow your forward progress tremendously, it will not destroy you – unless you fail to surrender your will to the Lord beyond your dying breath. So, be encouraged, for all is not lost.
Maybe today, you’re carrying the cross, but tomorrow you will wear the victor’s crown, but you must believe God, hear his voice beyond every measure – be obedient to His Holy Word, and handle anger with dignity, mercy, and grace. Only by HIS reflection is perfection shown – Shoulders strong enough to carry the cross, a Head humble enough to wear the Crown! Thank you, Lord. Hallelujah. Amen.
