No Escape!

Point to Ponder: No Escape!

As long as you’re alive you can expect to face challenges of some kind—whether it’s problems at home or on the job, financial difficulties, or even sickness. That’s because it’s the devil’s job to keep you distracted from God and His Word. He wants your time to be consumed with worry, doubt and fear so you have no time to spend in prayer and fellowship with your heavenly Father. The good news, though, is that Jesus has already taken care of your troubles so that you don’t have to be concerned over them.. . .

In a real sense, that popular saying that goes, “The struggle is real!” is true. Even as believers, we are constantly confronted with difficulties—problems and troubles that tend to distract us and get us off track, cause us to become weak, take our eyes off God and question His faithfulness. The truth is, though we must deal with the problems, God does not want us burdened and doubting Him. Life for us will be easier if our expectations are more realistic—if we don’t live with a fairy tale mentality that suggests that life is problem free. That’s like building a house in the desert but thinking you’ll never be affected by or experience a sandstorm. Starting on Monday, I’ll share some encouraging words that will help us all to be prepared for difficult times—words that will encourage us to believe that God always fights our battles so we can live victoriously. Jesus told His disciples in John 16:33, The Message, “I’ve told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world.” Get ready to unpack and unload those burdens you’ve been carrying, and step over into a life of victory and prosperity!
